The Loopina Journey

My journey with visual storytelling and animation began long before Loopina Creative took shape. Inspired by childhood favorites like Disney classics and Hanna-Barbera’s Tom and Jerry, and fueled by a lifelong passion for visual arts, my work explores movement, emotion, and character in every frame. The desire to bring my drawings to life led to the creation of Loopina Creative, a full-service studio offering 2D/3D animation, stop-motion, editorial illustration, and game art. Our focus is on emotionally-driven, character-centered stories that resonate across cultures and screens.

I’m Stela Railean (aka Estela Raileanu), a multidisciplinary artist with degrees in Painting, Graphics, and a Master’s in Directing Animation. I began my career illustrating over 100 children’s books under the pseudonym Loopina, and today I combine illustration, animation, and teaching to bring stories to life. Since 2023, I’ve been teaching animation at the Faculty of Visual Arts and Design at “Ion Creangă” State Pedagogical University, guiding students in character performance, storytelling, and movement. In 2024, as a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Central Florida, I expanded my experience exploring character animation and production pipelines within a global creative community.

Outside the studio, I participate in international residencies and symposiums, exploring identity, the feminine world, consumerism, and ego – often through Expressionist and Pop Art influences. The characters I create act as mirrors: sometimes poetic, sometimes unsettling, always honest. You can check my artworks here 🎨.

At Loopina Creative, animation isn’t just a tool – it’s a way to share ideas, feelings, and imagination. Here, heart and truth come before perfection. This is the space I continue to nurture, and the journey is far from over.
